Can You Imagine?

Have you been to Disney World? Stop for a moment and think about what Walt Disney had to “imagine”. Can you see the bare land, the first etchings of design, the roads, rides, and characters? Walt Disney died in 1966 – Disney World didn’t open until 1971. But, do you think Walt could “see” Disney World? Absolutely, because he “saw” it before it came to pass.

Do you realize that God “saw” you before you were even conceived? Psalm 139:13-16 tells about God’s knitting us together. He didn’t do it haphazardly; He did it with a plan and a purpose. He took great delight as He formed us.

We see this same concept in Hebrews 11. We hit the ground running with “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” From there we go through a list of those who have gone before us – who have dreamed impossible dreams. Verse 13 states “All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth.”

Keep dreaming the “God dreams”! Don’t get discouraged if they are not coming to pass in your timeframe. More than anything God desires relationship with us. How those dreams unfold is in His hands and His timetable. Can you be like Walt Disney, dreaming the impossible, creative dreams? I firmly believe that some of those dreams we will experience (and some in Scripture did) and others we are only seeing into the future and laying the foundation. But in everything we trust God!
