Are You In Alignment for God's Assignment?

Updated: Apr 26, 2023

Are you aligned with God's plans and purposes for your life? How often have you prayed, asking God to open a door and then not found the door? The challenge is that if you are not in alignment, you will crash into a wall rather than walk through the door. Ouch!

We can miss that door of opportunity that God places in front of us for many reasons. However, one of the main reasons is that we do not understand or receive our God-given identity. As we have walked through life, we have picked up words, wounding, and labels that He did not create us to carry. And not only do we pick up things that others throw our way, but we also make statements about ourselves that become a weight that holds us back rather than lifts us up and moves us forward. When we align with anything that is not from Him, the risks become even greater. We cannot afford to have random thoughts running through our heads that do not align with the heartbeat of God.

The only safe place to be is on assignment from God. So, what keeps us from walking successfully through the door and into that assignment?

If our identity is rooted in anything other than what God says, it will open the door to fear. When the door to fear opens, it immediately links with the failures of our past. As these areas become a stronghold in our lives, we miss the door God has placed in front of us. Unless we take it before the throne of grace, any disappointment can disqualify us from our divine appointment.

We must discover who God has called us to be to move forward. I love the account of Jeremiah because he saw himself incapable and not qualified for what God was calling him to do. Like us, he had his list of reasons that made perfect earthly sense but lacked Heavenly wisdom and understanding.

Like Jeremiah, we must reach a point where we accept the fact that God knows us, God has given us an assignment, He goes along with us, and then change our belief system to align with His.

Heavenly Father, I ask that you search my heart and reveal anything causing me to miss the doors you have set before me. I ask that you show me where my identity does not align with your plans and purposes and that you would help me to make the shift so that I am correctly aligned with you.

I decree and declare that I am here for such a time as this. I agree that God has plans and purposes for me and that they are good. I decree and declare that I am valuable, dearly loved child of God and that my past no longer has the right to control my future because of Him.

Heavenly Father, I thank you for the door(s) you have set before me, and I thank you that I can lean into you, and we will walk through that door. In Jesus' name. Amen
